I have really been
enjoying this book, because of the way the author tells the story and keeps you intrigued. The author jumps from theme to theme and just keeps you wanting to turn the page to find out what happens next. The story takes place in a everyday house and a barn, so most readers could relate to their way of life. The book is written like Elise is telling the story, because the author is saying “ I” and “My”, so it makes the book quite easy to understand. The thing I think keeps the reader the most intrigued are the variety of themes. Some of the themes the author uses, are finding who you are, you get more responsibility as you grow older, and you come from a lot of different places. I think this because, what is behind the doors tell you what the theme, so most readers can identify it without any trouble. The author also includes Elise falling behind in school work and how she tries to fix it, and that's what leads readers to the theme of responsibility. Most of the book is also very relatable, so the reader may feel a connection between the characters and themselves, and this helps the reader stay wanting to know what happens next.
I feel like I would without a doubt, recommend this book to a friend. This is because of the way the author handles the book, and keeps you reading. I would also rate this book a 8 out of 10 because this book is also directed to a younger age group. Mainly for kids between the age of 9 to 12. This book is not that difficult to understand and read, but is still interesting for readers much older than the age group. Comparing it to other books that I have read, it falls in the more liked ones. I am not the type of person to love reading, but I really liked this book. On the other hand, I feel like I have read much better books. I also liked the way the book is divided up, into three parts and chapters within them so the books makes more sense. I feel that I would choose the better books than this over “Eight Keys, but despite all of this I still think I would recommend this to a friend.
