What’s it really like being a teenager today?
Explaining to an adult what it's like to be a teenager today can be one of the most hardest things us as teens can do, not only because they were born in a different era, but because things have changed drastically from the time that they were our age. Our elders expect us to be on top of our schoolwork, but don’t understand the toll technology has taken upon that, we constantly have people asking “What’s wrong with your generation?” only because they’ve dealt with the worst of us, and last but not least we’re pressured into being like everyone else our age It’s horrible. Almost everyone has a different perspective on what they think their future has to hold, but because of high school we’re all “basic” and want the same thing ONLY because its cool. Technology has made an astonishing amount of progress over the years, but have we? We complain at the fact that we have bad grades, but do we do anything about them? No. Is it because we’re too preoccupied that we have new texts, retweets, followers, and requests? Social media and technology is nothing but a setback, getting on top of your school work should be a priority not all those things that previously named, since when did your popularity on social media determine where you’re headed in life instead of your grades, attendance, and social skills? Our generation needs a wakeup call. We are the future. Why is it that everyone older than us think that our generation is bad? It’s because our generation lacks a sense of respect for our elders, our priorities are messed up it’s time to put family, education, and our future into perspective. The truth is everyone who has ever asked us “What is wrong with your generation?” Has just ran into the worst of us, to those of you who know you don’t represent us well you need to open you eyes and focus on what’s really important.
