Allegory In Lord Of The Flies, By William Golding

Lord of the Flies by William Golding, is seen as an allegorical story. Allegory known as a symbolic level of meaning could be seen throughout the novel, as an example the island represents the whole world. The novel contains characters and objects that represent the theme and ideas. Each character in the novel represents a certain aspect of a spectrum between civilization and savagery. A group of young boys have been stranded to fend for themselves and show how the adult world will soon be in their rules. On a deeper level the novel is seen as an allegory for lust of power and capacities. Golding uses the characters and objects to represent and emphasize elements of the theme and ideas he explores in the novel.
Given an example is the island itself one of the most important aspects of allegory and symbolic meanings. The island represents the whole world. At this point and time there world is divided into two ways that is free world vs. Soviet Union.
