then pulled it out. It was covered in a glossy sheen, then he proceeded to throw it into the pit. They heard a high pitched scream, and then a bright light came out. They looked in, and they saw half of the demons glowing a white metallic color, some of them bursting into nothingness, others running and spreading the essence around. They were all quickly eradicated, leaving only a bright coating all around the pit. They walked in silently, As if every creature that hadn’t disappeared would stand back up and attack at any second. They stood in awe, until Altor asked, “Would you know how to work this thing?” Grende was staring at the tube, probably still confused about the whole thing that had just happened. He was still in a daze when Altor asked again. It was only when he asked the third time that he responded. “What’s that?” he responded. Altor, who was now very annoyed by this time, yelled, “How do we use this thing! Do you comprehend what I’m saying!?” Grende cursed at him under his breath, and said, “We have to find the key. The keyholder was probably killed when you killed them all, so we have to go searching for it.” They spent hours searching for it. They looked through the entire pit at least a hundred times, when Altor finally found it. It was an interesting thing. It looked like it was carved out of rock, marked with words and symbols probably in a language lost in time. It started to pulse red when it got close to the machine, and when he found the place it went in, it automatically went in and the machine started to glow that beauteous rainbow of reds, oranges, and yellows, and Altor yelled, “GET IN THE HATCH!” They ran into the opening of the tube, and in a few seconds, the loud crack sounded.
They shot off into the air, and after a minute or two they were able to open their eyes. They saw they were hurtling around each other in the air, much like a pair of dancers. They cleared the cloud cover, and saw it. The giant city in the sky. It looked much like a fortress at this point, with a giant cannon on each side. The cannon that was on the side facing them started glowing. Grende saw this, and told Altor to brace himself. There was yet another crack, which sounded more like a large boom. Altor chanced a small look, and saw a thunderbolt about the size of a small house coming at them. It zoomed past them, and they both felt a burning sensation on the side of their bodies that was facing the other being. They were still hurtling in the air, when all the sudden they slowed down, slowly at first, but gradually grew until they were almost at the wall and they came to an almost complete stop. They floated for a minute, then they started to speed rapidly towards the ground. They took an upward curve, and started charging headfirst at the bottom of it.
BOOM
They had hit their target, and were now sitting in a cavern in the shiny ground. A hole was the only thing to show how they got in. It glistened with crystals of many different colors
“Well that worked out beautifully,” said …show more content…
Altor.
They stared at each other for a second, and then burst out laughing. Because in the short time it took them to land, the Imperial Guard had been summoned to go clean out the infestation. They now stood around the two, with spears pointing at them.
“Why yes, I think you’re right” said Grende sarcastically.
They were ordered to stand up, and to start walking.
They were brought through the tunnels, which glistened and shone with every step they took. When they finally got out of the tunnels, they were greeted by a city covered in a pure gold coat. It shone even more than any regular gold you normally see. They kept walking, and soon came across a certain building that was taller than the rest. It had a large spire on the top, inside which was a large crystal that shone with the light of a thousand suns. When they stepped inside, it was completely empty except for a long hallway with a large double door at the end of it. It took what felt like an eternity to walk down the hallway, in which they were constantly being poked by the guard’s spears. Eventually they made it to the end and the other angels disappeared into thin air and reappeared at the other end of the
hallway.
“They couldn’t have done that any sooner?” said Altor.
“Certainly wouldn’t have wasted an hour of our lives,”
The giant doors opened and another supremely bright light shone in their faces. They walked into the room. As with the rest of the city, it was gold. A large room was the only thing between them and a staircase leading up to an angel cloaked in pure gold. Instead of a hood covering his head, a crown did instead. “I didn’t think you would make it past the demons at the launch zone. I have certainly underestimated you, even after wiping your memory,” the figure said. “I certainly am disappointed you didn’t read the little note I left you.”
