The Federal Energy Agency started energy deregulation in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, mostly because many local energy companies such as New York’s RG&E, had formed monopolies, they also felt that these companies were using outdated, inefficient generating plants. Consumers had no choice, and were forced to pay escalated energy costs based on solo area providers. It has taken several years and a lot of red tape, but 3rd party energy service companies known as ESCOs, were finally let into the marketplace to compete for your business. Energy is now regulated by some states, only about 22 states; including New York …show more content…
His Realtor took him to a meeting and Dan joined Ambit in November of 2010, he was lured by the idea of receiving free energy. Today Dan has 5 direct consultants beneath him; these 5 then produced an off spring of 35 more consultants with a total of 360 new Ambit customers that Dan receives a residual income from. For every consultant that is signed up under Dan no matter what level, even if I sign up a consultant, he receives a $55.00 bonus. In the past year Dan receives a monthly check for $60.00 based on the 360 Ambit customers, he received $55.00 per the 35 new consultants that equal $1,925, plus he gets his energy supply for free, so he has increased his yearly income by about $3,000 with Ambit. Dan’s pitch is just switch for 30 days and if you don’t like it you can switch back, he has not had any customers leave Ambit. I asked Dan what he thought of initial $500.00 investment, he said were else can you start your own business for that price. I was surprised to learn this in my research, and not many consumers of Energetix’s know this. They offer a $25.00 discount for signing on with them and $25.00 for any referred customers. Energetix’s requires a two year contract and if you leave before that they will charge customers a $30.00 cancellation fee. One of my new Ambit customers Don Johnson just switched from Energetixs clamming that he was on the Energetixs budget plan which was ripping him off, he explained to me for example: that he was paying $100.00 a month on his budget, but he kept track and only used $80 dollars a month instead of the $100.00 he was budgeted for, he explained that over the years he had built up $1000.00 of surplus that he had paid to Energetix’s with no way of getting that money back, because that was the budget and the estimated amount that Energetix’s put him on. The point is most people wouldn’t keep track or figure out how much they actually used verses their budget. If customers do not choose their supplier from the listing that was sent out, RG&E will choose it for you, so while you might have not signed up with Energetix you very well may be getting Energetixs as your energy
