Everyone has dreams on becoming someone or something, just Iago, after being not being chosen on being lieutenant; his anger drove him to ruin another indivials life. Othello’s nature is to be loving and trusting, but he is cast as an outsider due to his dark skin tone. Iago is the villain in this Shakespeare play, as in he needs no motivation for antagonism toward Othello. Passed over for promotion, Iago hated for Othello started to grow. The only way to make Othello could ever hater Cassio as if he thought that Desdemona was cheating on him. Iago has noticed Othello's tendency to insecurity and overreaction, but not even Iago imagined Othello would go as far into jealousy as he did. Jealousy forced Othello to lose all his common sense and his respect and care for justice. Iago's scheme would not have worked without the underlying atmosphere of racial prejudice in which both Desdemona and Othello are very aware of. She had remains loyal to him until the end. He had always believed that he was unworthy of Desdemona and that she can never love him, lead to believe that this was true. Overall, having your goals taken away go easy would impact a person to go made and ruin lives on the way of archiving it.
Iago’s individual goals include tricking Othello into thinking his wife was cheating on him with his new lieutenant.
By demoting Cassio, Iago affects himself, Desdemona and Othello. He is now in place as lieutenant. After Desdemona is affected by the news she tells Othello that Cassio deserves a second change, which leads Othello to believe they are in a relationship. People believed called Iago because he has had a reputation for honesty, for reliability and direct speaking. Othello and others in the play constantly refer to him as "honest Iago."
