Most of them have great character traits. Iago exceptional trait was his intelligence. One wrong move and he could have been the death of Iago but he maintained a humble and crafty mind to get him around the nooks and crannies of his mischievous plan. He cleverly convinces Roderigo that his main love rival is Cassio. He also got Roderigo to do his dirty work so he can keep his hands clean and his reputation unblemished. An amazing thing Iago was able to accomplish was being able to talk to Cassio in “private” about Bianca but swindle Othello who is hiding away in the bushes to think they are talking about Desdemona. Very evil and deceitful but clever on Iago’s doing. The handkerchief was an important symbol of this novel and Iago knew the importance of it to Othello so he used it for his benefit to finally push Othello over the limit and convince him that Desdemona betrayed him by suggesting slyly, “such a handkerchief did I today see Cassio wipe his beard with.” It is not enough to be evil it makes the world difference when the villain is evil and crafty making everything they do strategic, in the end making for a bigger explosion during the
