The American Dream has changed immensely the past 200 years. Whether it would be about race, religion,
social class, etc. According to Bharati Mukeriee, he says that: "It is a stage for transformation." As years passed,
immigrants have always wanted to live the "American Dream" and live a great life.
In an excerpt from an interview with Bill Moyers, Mukeriee says: "What America offers me is
romanticism and hope…I would choose to discard that part of my history that I want, and invent a whole new
history for myself." This shows that when Mukeriee came to America, it offered him romanticism and hope.
When me moved to America, he wanted to discard his past life & start a fresh life here. Moving to America from
another country can change someones life, and it's also a stage for transformation.
In the "American Dream" by Dan Rather, Rather explains: "The American Dream [is] one of the greatest
ideas in the history of human achievement…It holds a real, identifiable place in the American heard and mind, and
it informs the aspiration of everyone from farmers to software developers…It define us as a people." With that
saying, it shows that the "American Dream" is one of the greatest ideas in the history of human achievement
because it defines us as a people. It also holds inspiration for everyone because of the success people can have
here. Moving to America adds a new chapter in people's lives and can immensely turn someones life around.

citizenship was a turning point in my life…a country in which every person is entitled to dream of happiness,
peace and liberty; where those who have are taught to give back." Unprotected by any government and being
