The colonists decided to then make a move and this is when the revolutionary war started, At the battle of lexington and concord. I will simply discuss the most major of the revolutionary battles because, well simply put there we're alot of them and all of them played small parts in the big scheme of things. The first of these being , as previously stated, lexington and concord and following lexington and concord was the battle of Fort ticonderoga where benedict arnold and ethan allen led the american troops to take over a british camp whilst in the night and the american men captured the camp and its inhabitants. At the same time this is happening there is a second continental congress meeting being held in philadelphia. Following these events there was a major battle at bunker hill in which the americans and britain fought for control over bunker hill , the british one this fight and it was huge to have control over such a great militant standing. After alot of these events happened an author by the name of Thomas Paine released a pamplet called “common sense” in which he talked about the importance of independance from britain and how he did it was truly intelligent. Throughout history we have seen so many different changes, from freedom of slaves, to equality among men and women. Today more so than in the past, women have been given every opportunity that men are now given and are truly equal among men. The bill of rights would now have an even greater effect, The right to bear arms the freedom of speech and religion , right to a jury, these we're all huge things that have helped shaped the US and the stigma behind it. The bill of rights are the reason that the US has the stigma of the greatest country and the american dream is alive today. The Declaration of Independence has also left lasting effects upon other foreign nations, including the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, and the Declaration of Independence for the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
