American Voice Analysis

What is American Voice? What comes to your mind when people mention “american voice”? Do Bad or good things cross your mind? When I hear the term, “American Voice,” Words like Pride, hard work, and bravery. In the following paragraphs, i will explain to you why i think that American voice is those three words. I will also give you evidence from famous american speeches proving the meaning of american voice. Evidence of hard work is mentioned in Walt Whitman's speech in various places. For example, in line 5 of his speech he mentions, "The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands. (Whitman 5)" This direct quote supports the idea of hard working americans because in the quote it mentions how joyful and happy the shoemaker is as he's working. "The Delicious singing of a mother, or a young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing (Whitman 8)," Whitman sets the tone of pride when he mentions that females also work as
Acts of bravery are shown in various american speeches. For Example in lines 5-12 of Langston Hughes’ poem, he metions, “...But i laugh, and eat well, and grow strong, Tomorrow i’ll be at the table, when company comes. Nobody will dare say to me “eat in the kitchen.” This piece of langston hughes poem describes American voice as Brave because he shows that he isnt ashamed to show the white folks that he is also an american. Acts of brave american voice is also shown in parts of barack obama's speech. He shows bravery by mentioning that his family came from kenya and that they hustled to get their stuff.
