America Singer is eighteen years young, and lives in an extreme caste-system society. As a Five, the number of her caste in an exceedingly futuristic society. Her caste number is the caste for artists, and she has chosen music as her special talent. America lives in Illéa where The United States once used to be. And because she is the third oldest teenager, she still lives at home along with her folks and 2 younger siblings, who struggle to make a living. However, since her country's prince has become come of age, she's entered into the Selection with thirty-four different young women, all competing to become the Prince's better half.
