While this is a good point because America will see him every day and she isn’t sacrificing anything hard like his literal life. But clearly, this is a hard sacrifice because America has a hard time giving up Aspen because he was her fit true love, and used to be America’s real future. The novel states, “Aspen turned his accusing eyes my way, and the weight of his stare broke me” (Cass 278). To explain, before America told Aspen that she was going to marry Maxon, Aspen just looking at her almost made her cry. This shows that giving up Aspen was giving up all of their memories and moments that she would have to forget. She is giving up not just the memories but her feelings for aspen had to disappear and never come back. That proves that giving up Aspen was the hardest sacrifice America had to make for the future she truly
