Identity is shaped over an amount of time and has interactions with the micro, meso and macro stages of society. Identity can be gender, family, beliefs, social status, sexuality, ethnicity and group association. The biggest problem of keeping a different Amish identity in light of the recent social change is staying away from the farm. The bishops of the Amish faith have worked to form the church law in many ways that will eventually keep their identity without stopping their existence of life. To survive the Amish people adherents must well remove their social identity into a fresh environment in a way that lets them to continue their life. In the documentary about the Amish people, it has shown that they live by a rule that is designed to reinstruct their identity.
