NH3 H2O - NH4OH can be a very useful to the society because by keeping an eye out for this synthesis reaction, chemical technicians are able to identify ammonium hydroxide in water accessed by people and prevent people from being in contact with toxic water. Ammonia takes the form of gas at room temperature. It is a colourless gas with an irritating odour. Ammonias melting point is at -77 degrees Celsius and its boiling point is at -33.35 degrees Celsius. This covalent compound is corrosive to some metals and is combustible in oxygen. Ammonias structural diagram appears to be polar and therefore is highly stable. Water takes the form of liquid at room temperature. It is colourless, odourless, and a tasteless liquid. The boiling and freezing point of water differs depending on what kind and where the water is from. …show more content…
This molecular compound forms hydrogen bonds with particular molecules and separate ionic lattice. Because it is a polar compound, it can be a good solvent. Because of the fact that water is a polar molecule with an electrical dipole moment, it can form four hydrogen bonds, leading to strong attractive forces between molecules of water, giving H2O a high surface tension.
