There were several of us walking around, and if my friend had been alone, they would have been stranded, because even their phone was dead. The country talks about equal rights and opportunities; however, they fail to consider emergency situations. After that event that took place and having to watch the Willowbrook videos, I had learned the country does not do a sufficient enough job with aiding individuals who present a disability in an event of an emergency. After the videos, I thought about Forest Gump and Lieutenant Dan, when Dan feel down or slid down the pavement. I began to ask myself, "What would have happened if he slid, stopped and fell on a busy highway or even street and Forest was not there to aide him?" (Zemeckis, 1994).
Regarding the areas I would find myself excelling in and struggling in, being able to fully understand how one perceives themselves from what they believe they are from others' perspectives would be a struggle for me and aiding the individual in the change of perspectives and helping them gain insight into their distress would be an area I believe I would excel
