The second part of the statement says “crushes the spark of genius in the Negro.” So basically here they are stating that the Negro has what it takes to be a
genius, but by being the oppressed they learn they will never be a genius. This is because of their education process teaching ”Negroes does not amount to too much” and ”will never measures to standards of other people.” Above, the statement tells me how the oppressor,(the teacher), teaches the oppressed (the students) how the oppressor’s race is the best while the Negro will never be genius because they are worth nothing.
