An Analysis Of The Beatles 'I Saw Her Standing There'
“I Saw Her Standing There” by The Beatles is the perfect description of Romeo’s first encounter with Juliet. The song illustrates a scene in which a girl and a boy meet at a party, fall in love almost immediately, and subsequently make an unvoiced pledge to never leave each other for someone else. Like the characters in the song, Romeo and Juliet both meet at a party (which is being hosted by the Capulets). As soon as Romeo lays eyes on Juliet, he completely abandons his relationship with Rosaline in order to pursue her. This is not a difficult task, as Juliet is at the same time entirely smitten with him!
