An Essay About Katniss Being Brave

Katniss Everdeen is brave. Being brave means you are not afraid of your weaknesses. You will fight it no matter what. When you are brave, you are showing courage. You are fearless and confident. Being timid is not being brave. To be brave, you aren’t scared of confronting thongs most people are scared of. I chose the word brave for Katniss because she is really brave. In the book, The Hunger Games, her sister, Primrose Everdeen, was going to be part of The Hunger Games because her name was drawn from the draw that picks who is fighting in the games but Katniss was brave enough to volunteer so she is now fighting in the games instead of her little sister.

Peeta Mellark is kind. Being kind means you are not mean. It means you are nice, pleasant to be around and you are not harsh. When you are kind, you stand up for people, listen to people when they are talking instead of interrupting and being a good friend is also being kind. Peeta is kind because when Katniss was really hungry and had no food at all, he gave her a whole loaf of bread! He encourages Katniss that she is going to win The Hunger Games. He tries to make Katniss feel better when she is sad. Peeta is a really great friend.
The definition of selfish is you only care about yourself. It means you use someone for something you want. Being selfish also means your being rude. Cato is selfish because he uses people. Just like he used Peeta to find Katniss so he could kill her because he knows Katniss is one of the stronger ones so he wants to kill her first so it could be easier for him to win The Hunger Games. Cato killed most of the people in The Hunger Games including the twelve year olds that were in the games. He killed anyone that came in his way while going for the hardest target, Katniss
