The wealthy land could afford the children to eat because they are taking all of the parents money. “These mothers instead of being able to work for their honest livelihood, are forced to employ all their time in strolling,to beg sustenance…”(Swift pg. 25). These mothers are forced to beg for food to feed their young and themselves. Even though the wealthy landlords will benefit from the idea England will not.
England will not benefit from the idea because they would be spending money and not receiving anything. England will not benefit because they are just buying the food not getting anything in return. “ A child will make two dishes at an entertainment for friends, and when the family dines alone, the fore or hind quarter will make a reasonable dish…”(Swift pg. 28). It explains how the dish will feed the guests and families and fill them up. England does not benefit but in the end the wealthy landlords wins.
“In A Modest Proposal” Swift's idea would benefit the wealthy landlords the most and not England nor the poor. England nor the poor could never reap any of the benefits. In the end the poor get poorer and rich get
