needs to be taken care of. The extraordinary lifestyle that L.B.J. claims to have is never shown in the movie. L.B.J. is incapable of preforming simple tasks. Stella, the insurance company nurse, constantly tends to L.B.J.’s needs. Stella cooks for L.B.J. and tends to L.B.J.’s medical needs. Stella also attempts keep L.B.J. out of trouble. She tells L.B.J. that staring into his neighbor’s personal lives is an inappropriate behavior. L.B.J. is tended to and kept out of trouble, like a small child.
Aside from physical help, L.B.J. also receives help from Stella and Lisa in order to solve the murder mystery in the movie. Both Stella and Lisa leave L.B.J.’s apartment to investigate Thorwald, the man accused of murdering his wife. Lisa is one of the pivotal reasons that the murder mystery is solved. She puts her life in danger to snoop around Thorwald’s apartment to find more clues. Without Stella and Lisa, L.B.J. would not have been able to successfully catch Thorwald.
By the end of the movie, L.B.J. is left needing more assistance than before. Through a series of events, he suffers another injury that leaves both of his legs in a cast. L.B.J.’s reality contradicts the lifestyle he claims to need. Lisa, is shown in the last scene with L.B.J. He has a smile on his face—a smile of content. L.B.J.’s perceived opinion on marriage was incorrect. He was able to have an adrenaline rush with Stella, and Lisa, a woman who he thought would prohibit him from doing
