Analysis Of Escape From Alcatraz
Liberation. This word hangs in the mind of all the convicts that dwell in ¨The Rock.¨ Alcatraz, a prison destined to trap America's most wanted criminals, It was an island that was commonly called ¨The Rock.¨ In 1909, ¨The Rock¨ was built and end its service in 1963, closed for good. This prison holds many of America's most difficult and dangerous felons with no one able to escape. In 1962, the great escape from Alcatraz was attempted and stay unsolved. Two prevailing theories surrounded the escape from Alcatraz: The escapees drowned or they successfully escaped from America's most hardened and inescapable prison. The escape from Alcatraz traps many sophists in a corners wondering if the trio escaped or drowned on their path to liberation. …show more content…
To begin with, Pruitt, the author of Escape From Alcatraz, June 11, 1962, refers to a ¨significant lead, a Norwegian freighter reported seeing a body floating 20 miles northeast of Golden Gate Bridge on July 17, wearing what appeared to be denim trousers similar to those issued by the prison.¨ This establishes the fact that the trio could have sunk to the bottom of the bay. From the book, Escape From Alcatraz, during the escape, the water level was at its highest point with huge tides and waves (Hélèna). According to Hélèna, author of Escape from Alcatraz: Frank Morris and the Anglin Brothers (1962), government officials believe the trio drowned because there were no robberies or car thefts during the night of the escape. Also from Pruitt, FBI officers claimed that the trio surely died and their bodies swept toward the Pacific Ocean.
