Analysis Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelley
Writing for me has not been a wonderful experience, from my earliest years in elementary up until my senior year in high school. I was very interested in the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley that my AP English teacher, Mrs. McElroy, introduced to us my senior year. It was very confusing when I first started reading the novel because of all the details he had on his characters, mainly the creature and his creator: Frankenstein. It made me question why he wrote such a novel and how symbolism helped him create his main idea of the novel. I learned several skills in order to answer all my questions about his the novel. My questions as I read the book were: Why does a man create a monster in the first place? What could it represent? How does the monster’s life compare to his creator’s? As I proceed in college English, I will encounter English professors with their own style of writing they will show us. Knowing how to analyze texts, I believe that I can read any book they could possibly handed to me by my future professors. Reading has shaped my mind to seeing more than just the words, but seeing meaning behind them. Words all have a meaning behind them, just like they have, normally, more than just one definition. That is how I approach a novel, what other possible idea does the author have for us? Can he possibly be talking about this? Or maybe this? The author creates his novel in order to make the reader question his writing and see it from different angles. Along with analyzing, I annotate the text to point out the important texts or key points in the novel. It gives light to the text I would want to express when writing my thesis statement. It gives me the chance to get the most important information to back up my stance. Knowing this, I see now problem in approaching college English

She uses beautiful eloquent language and her creative narrative point of view is so concise that many readers forget that Robert Walton is the true singular narrator.
