For some reasons, the managers’ positions have been seen in a negative way for many years. However, this does not change the essentiality of this position in any organization, especially in business set-ups. There have been a constant confusion between the role of leaders and managers, and what should be clearly established is that these two roles do not share the same meaning. Being a manager does not guarantee that one is already a good leader. However, leaders can be effective managers. This only means that in order for managers to be effective and avoid negative feedback, they should have sufficient knowledge and skills on leadership. Aside from this, managing and leading a company will also have different impacts on the organization, as well as business outputs (Treacy, 2006). As a matter of fact, so many supervisors, administrators, and other high-ranking officials in different organizations have been performing their role without being good leaders themselves. It is just that their positions open better opportunities to be leaders. A manager can truly rise from other managers if he or she manages to be an efficient manager and leader at the same time (Bateman & Snell, 2009).…

The ideas that are given in this book will stimulated my mind into becoming a leader and perhaps enabled me to bring my company ahead of the competitors. It was amazing to see how Collins spent nearly five years in comparing the mediocre companies with great companies. One most notable difference is on how the level 5 leader responds to each situation that the company faces. This book will helped me to understand that if a company becomes big, its not because of the skilled salesperson nor huge investment in advertising, but it is simply because the great CEO that bring the company into such success, was proactive in doing so, and was not afraid to face the brutal facts.…

Some of the characteristics of Jeff Bezos leadership style are that he always challenges idle thinking, he makes customer service a main priority, and he continuously renovates his approach. Bezos does not accept that there is one truth about the way things should be done, even if that way has proven to be successful previously. That relatively small decision speaks volumes of Jeff’s commitment to truth and to customer satisfaction.…
