Technically Mahkama Du Pacha is just a parliamentary building. However there is so much more to this Court of Justice. In reality, it is an endlessly fascinating study in Moroccan and Moorish architecture. The building will remind you of other gems that display Moorish architecture such as The Alhambra in Grananda, Spain.
It’s hard to gain entry to Mahkama Du Pacha because it is still in use. While it is gorgeous from the outside, we recommend trying your luck and tiptoeing inside if you get the chance. Try requesting the guards at the entrance to let you in. The building will leave you awestruck. On the inside, graceful arches coexist with ornate doors. Located just past the Corniche, the Shrine of Sidi Abderrahmane is of great significance to muslims around the world. The coastal shrine is said to treat a plethora of mental illnesses. The shrine is only accessible to muslims but non-muslims can explore the surrounding complex and catch a few glimpses of the hallowed white walls of the shrine. However, this is possible only at low tide. Doing this offers the perfect opportunity to acquaint oneself with the beliefs of the local community and provides a peek into their way of life.
