In the story, the six kids and the teacher were in a very unfamiliar place and environment, they were in China. They don’t have any money and they don’t know how to speak Chinese. Because they look different than the Chinese people, the Chinese people got scared and no one was being kind to them. The six kids and the teacher almost finished all the foods that they brought on their way, and no one is giving foods to them.
