Analysis Of The VARK Questionnaire
The VARK Questionnaire said that I was a Kinesthetic and Read/write learning styles and low in the Aural and Visual learning styles. Being a Kinesthetic learner means like to physical do it or I am hands- on type of person. Also, with being a read/write learning style I like handouts, writing down notes, and etc. I really was not surprised about my results. In school, I am always taking notes in class and after the class I summarize what was most important to know. Then a couple days before the test I rewrite my notes and read them to myself. That helps me the most on the tests or quizzes I take because it sticks in my head if I keep on reading and writing them down over and over. On the opposite, with basketball I am a Kinesthetic

A person can use the learning strategies to learn the new material and to teach effectively to others. Based on the VARK questionnaire, a person would first determine his or her learning style. Then a learning plan would be developed to learn the material based on specific learning style. Awareness of learning style, preferences, and strategies helps people learn easily in their own style. When preparing to learn new material it is important to set yourself up for the greatest chance of success of learning that new material or, if teaching it, by presenting it in such a way that it will be retained. The first step in the process, involves determining the characteristics of the learner (Edelman, 2014). This can be accomplished by simply having the student complete the VARK questionnaire. The VARK questionnaire has sixteen multiple choice questions in which four answers may be selected for each question. The results provide you with not a learning style but your preferences…

VAK stands for Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic learning styles. VAK helps to provide a simpler way to help someone to understand their own learning styles. Everyone has different ways that they like to learn in and how effective that learning style is for them. Some people may have a more than one type of learning style. For example, during a previous lesson we took a questionnaire independently to find out what was the best learning style was for us and my results showed that I am a visual learner and I believe this to be true as I like to look at examples and watch video clips to help me to complete a task however I believe that I am a kinaesthetic learner as well as I like to be hands on with certain tasks.…

I think I do better acting out how things work while I am studying or doing homework. The assessment did surprise me a little bit because I was not expecting to score high with visual, aural, and read/write. I’m also surprised that I scored Kinesthetic by a point above of visual, aural, and read/write. There are some points where I could have been a visual, aural, and read/write learner. I would like to use visual because at times when I use a graph to look at different percentages that are about many different things, it helps to look at what item is better by the percentage. Aural would help be by listening to what others say about a topic and how they feel about it. It gives me the idea on what others think and how I can follow the topic and not mess up and make a fool of myself. Read/write would help me by reading through directions and following them, or rewriting notes from a power point. I would say kinesthetic is my number one learning ability to have because of being hands-on materials and do actions while I am studying and doing…

Fleming developed an inventory designed to help students learn more about their individual learning preferences. Fleming’s VAK model identified three learning styles; Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic. According to this theory most people have a preferred learning style however some people may prefer to learn using a mixture of all three styles. As with the previous theories each style within the VAK model has individual characteristics based on their learning preferences. Visual learners learn best through seeing. They think in pictures and have intense mental images. They like to learn using maps, charts, pictures or videos. They tend to have visual skills in activities such as reading, writing, puzzle building, interpreting charts and graphs, and painting and have a good sense of direction. Auditory learners like to learn through listening. They tend to think in words rather than pictures and learn best through lectures, discussions, talking things through and hearing other people’s opinions. Auditory learners tend to have highly developed auditory skills and are generally good at speaking and presenting. They demonstrate these skills through speaking, listening, storytelling, explaining, understanding the syntax and meaning of words, remembering information and analysing language usage. Kinaesthetic learners learn best through moving, touching and doing. They find it hard to sit…
