One who kills another is called a murderer, but one that kills many for no specific reason and often have the same pattern of behaviour are serial killers. Serial killers are psychologically disturbed and often become killers because of being harassed, assaulted, punished, etc. Genetics does not shape a serial killer but it rather plays a small role. They often murder during the times when they are stressed, angry, or reached a point of psychological trigger (McMahon). Often the victims, have no relation to the serial killers but it makes the killers want to brutally murder, torture, or sexually harass them as they may resemble those that hurt them from past, specifically their childhood experiences (Rutigliano). The motive of serial killers is to express their anger towards those who hurt them, which they hurt victims that resemble the abusers of that killer.
Nature plays a small role in shaping a serial killer, it is only triggered by the person's environmental surroundings, psychological illnesses, or neurological damage in their childhood.
