This same context can be seen within the shunned boy and his true goal being right in front of him. The obstacles we face not being concrete is the focal point of this image. Many times in life we are confronted with a long term goal that is in hands reach, and we may ask ourselves why we aren't striving to take small steps to get what we need most. But what we don't realize is that the true barrier is within ourselves. There is a fear, a stalled stopping point that we've created with our experiences. And the spread of clouds the young boy is surpassing on the darker side of the photo, are those experiences coming through his life and holding him back. This represents the idea of him leaving many things of his past stranded as his feet follows a new path that this dawning will bring. Along with the clouds we have a great view of the multiple shrubs and rocks becoming stranded and dry. The boy has made his way through his journey and is now at the climax; his decision. At any time in our life we can easily be wiped away by the true fear in our nature by letting our past experiences control what we choose. And although this life he sees may seem easier on the other side, the boy is going through the true effect of how crossing the barrier he as created himself may be harder than the journey. The title of this image, “The easier side,” contradicts the fact that nothing about breaking down a barrier, defeating a demon, or pushing through an obstacle is easy. Crossing over is easy, but getting yourself to chose whether to or not can be the hardest part of the journey as a whole. We look at this boy as a true representation of human nature and our fear of seeing a brighter day, while being held back by one person:
