Felonies and Misdemeanors
Criminal, the very first word that pops in to my head when words Felonies and Misdemeanors come into mind. Federal government has laws in place they also have stern disciplinary protocols in place. When you get caught committing a crime you are usually being arrested and at that point are considered to be convicted of a crime punishable by, again the stern protocols in place by the government. Well you’re not really convicted until you’ve been set in front of a judge and charged; however, unless you plan to, I don’t know say run, resist arrest or maybe attempt to escape the local prison they first escort you to process of you and your paperwork, - that is what will eventually happens. Depending on the severity of the crime you could be charged with punishment imposed accordingly. This is where Felonies and Misdemeanors come in there the type of crimes you can be charged with if arrested. “For every action there is a repercussion” that’s something my father always use to tell me. There are a lot of different crimes so servable punishment to accommodate each, felonies are the more serious category while Misdemeanors the lesser serious category.

Any crime that has a sentence of only a fine or confinement in the local jail for a total of 12 months or less is not a felony. There are two main classes of misdemeanors an class A and class B. A misdemeanor in NYS it would or could give off the appearance of being light on crime; however, that all depends on the severity of the crime and the amount of prior offenses. Prostitution, Petty theft, Disorderly conduct, Drug possession, Simple assault, Trespassing, Public intoxication, Vandalism, and Animal crimes (dog bites) are all possible crimes that can pertain to what repercussion a person is charged with under the misdemeanor
