Mangroves are a type of marine ecosystem. They occur within the intertidal zone of the Minnamurra River estuary. This ecosystem is made up of a community of plants and animals interacting with each other and the abiotic environment. The vegetation of the shoreline is dominated by the Grey Mangrove and the River Mangrove. At the study site, both mangroves can be observed growing upon yellow sandy beaches, but more often within grey sands and fine black mud. Other initial observations reveal general patterns of distribution of the two mangroves. Firstly, grey mangrove mostly grows closer toward the low tide mark than river mangrove. Grey mangrove also appears more frequently toward the mouth of the estuary while river mangrove is more dominant further upstream. Various abiotic characteristics, such as annual rainfall, seasonal variations in rainfall, temperature extremes, wind exposure, soil type/texture, topography, pH, sunlight and availability of nutrients, to name a few, influence the diversity, distribution and populations of species within the mangrove ecosystem.…

In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo’s character was undermined as a foolish, feminist, and untrustworthy man to the audience, which finally contributes to the tragedy of the play. He is foolish as he was completely defeated by love-sick, impulsively asked for marriage after seeing Juliet for one night, and blindly drank the poison. Also, Romeo was a feminist as he was crying on the floor like a woman after the Prince pronounced his banishment. Finally, he is shown to the audience as a potentially faithless man who only loves a woman based on her look and quickly forgets about his old love completely as he has a new one. All of these elements come together and convey a sense of the lack of strong masculinity character in Romeo, whose tragic flaw finally contributes to the tragic ending of the play.…

Over ninety-five percent of the region’s forests have been destroyed, which leaves only about five percent of the original forest area still standing; therefore, the Indo-Burma forests are the most vulnerable forests globally.…

Despite the British used the term to address the hill and forest tribe, there is a lack of common identification about the tribes in India. In general we can understand tribes on the basis of their geographically isolated location, deprivation, use of tribal language, practice of animism and physical features, among other factors (Ghurye, 1963). Each tribe has established its own socio-cultural diversity that is distinguished from this nation (Rout Naresh 2015:72). They represent a society that lacks positive traits of the modern society and thus constitutes a simple, illiterate and backward society (Xaxa Virginius 1999:3590). Article 342 of the constitution recognize over 700 tribal groups in India, they are also called as Adivasis. After India’s independence in 1947, the categorization of tribal communities was formalized through a detailed separate statutory list of the Scheduled Tribes Order of 1950 that came into force following the reorganization of the Indian states (Ghurye, 1963). The essential characteristics, first laid down by the Lokur Committee, for a community to be identified as Scheduled Tribes are; 1) indications of primitive traits; 2)distinctive culture; 3)shyness of contact with the community at large; 4)geographical isolation; and 5)…
