them both but both suffered of small pox. For them to walk from the British prison back to their home was 40 miles, Andrew’s brother died on the long walk home from his sickness. After his mom died he became an orphan and started to go out into the world and became. He was a really good lawyer and he gained popularity because of it. He learned how to dance at a little party him and his friends went to. He got into a duel and both decided to shoot there only bullet into the air avoiding one another.
In the revolutionary war he gained some men to fight and went out in battle but got very little action. They got a letter that told them they were not needed and to tell his troops to walk home even when the troops and Jackson were sick. Jackson decided it was not fair for them to walk back home for no reason so he decided to walk them home. In Tennessee Jackson lead a group of Democratic-Republicans known as the War Hawks. They defeated Britain in Tennessee. The stunning victory gave the country something to cheer about during that time. Andrew Jackson was finally given a time to shine during the battle of New Orleans. He was sent there with only 4,000 men and went up against 10,000 well trained troops. The way he defeated most of the enemy’s troops was that he used guerrilla tactics at night. His victory gave him the nickname Old Hickory.
When Andrew Jackson was elected President of The United States he stood up for his beliefs.
In November 1832 the Nullification Convention met. It stated that the tariffs of 1828 and 1832 were unconstitutional. So after Jackson issued his proclamation, The Congress passed the Force act that allowed the use of military force against any one or state that resisted the tariff acts. Also during the Presidency of Andrew Jackson on September 10, 1833 he announces that the government will no longer be using the Second Bank of the United States. Andrew Jackson also hated the use of paper money but ended up on the 20 dollar bill. Some people do view Andrew Jackson as a villain for a couple of reasons. One reason I have is how Jackson removed Indians out of where they live and that he just straight up hated Indians. But Jackson’s mother hated Indians and he got his hate from her, but they have a reason. The Indians have killed some of Jackson’s family members and raided other villages. The Indians were removed from their homes and that was called the “Trail of Tears”.
In conclusion America should consider Andrew Jackson a hero. He was given a nickname for his bravery and commitment during battle he was an excellent president and he cared for the people he loved. Andrew Jackson is definitely a Hero in my
book.
