faces. While some Japanese anime characters may be endowed with moderately proportionate body parts for example, the heads, eyes, and facial expressions are usually overemphasized and brightly coloured. In fact, most of anime’s overemphasize elements occur in regards to the facial expressions, and colours used. The most well-known physical exaggeration typically occurs in the characters’ eyes. Anime characters’ eyes are huge and can take up almost half of their face. These large eyes yield for an effective source through which the animator can reveal the characters’ emotions. In addition to large eyes, there are abundant other physical characteristics that can distinguish anime from other types of animation. These characters often possess several, wild, and unnaturally coloured hair and fashionable wear. Moreover, the heads on anime characters are often very large in comparison to other body parts may be drawn larger than a normal human proportion would require, that is, depending upon what the animator is trying to communicate about the character. The characters’ facial expression exaggerates a more dramatic design. For instance, huge teardrops are standard portrayal of embarrassment or distress. Anime character can also be comedic when they draw out a weapon of some sort with which to strike comedic consolation. The goal of these physical feature and dramatize elements is to portray the inner life of the anime character on television. The personality of the character is the driving force behind the specifics of the design. For instance, the animator will focus more on creating a feature for a character that reflects that character’s personality, than they will work on creating a more realistic look for the character. American characters usually have features that are not relatively like the rest of the body and therefore further from reality than anime.
Anime has a more appealing theme, one of anime’s characteristic qualities is the type of themes it undertakes.
These themes tend to be far more complex than other themes from American animated cartoons. For instance, “an anime theme typically develops over the course of dozens of episodes, and a single storyline can take more than 50 episodes to fully develop”. (showmetheanimation.com) In addition to an elaborate theme, an anime character tends to be more complex themselves. A few other variety of animation allow their characters in which only one or two characteristic traits are developed and emphasized. Moreover, there are also many other main characters in a storyline. The aftereffect of these features are the fascinating characters that interact to tell a lengthy story. Anime tend to hold a long storyline, and are more in detailed with their episodes, other than American animation, they tend to have episode that don’t go with the story. A great example to an American animation that doesn’t follow the storyline is a cartoon show that tend to not have detailed episode, and don’t go with the …show more content…
story.
Next, some of the critical problems that has interfere with American animation is budget and time limitation.
Other than japan, anime has been allowed to prosper all over. When it comes to rallying around animation, “Hollywood simply does not take it seriously and would rather throw it million into “live action” films and TV shows”. (customessaymeister) This is a real embarrassment considering that animation has not had it proficiency advanced through as many stages of development or been refine as much as anime has. This would some to cessation that Japanese anime is intrinsically better than American cartoons. Of course, it will be awhile before American cartoonist are given the freedom and creativity that have made the Japanese animator successful for the last
decade.
Furthermore, I’m a very enthusiastic watcher of anime, so I've seen a lot of different types of anime. I've seen enough to notice some of the tropes and clichés. One thing I've come across in every anime is the lack of subtlety, which is unusual. At first I thought it was because of the English dubs, which to be reasonable, usually sound forced as well. Even on exceptionally praised shows where the animation is beautiful, the story is strong, and the proposition is interesting, anime characters are incline to say exactly what they're thinking or use common expression. As someone who adores the style and design behind a lot of anime, it’s hard to say that it's somewhat disappointing to try and join in on the fun of the anime and be distracted by the dialogue. Most western series, even animated ones, are written with subtlety in mind. At least the good ones. “If Breaking Bad were an anime I wouldn't be surprised to see Walter White say something like, "I shall be the superior drug kingpin in all New Mexico!" or "Boy, you really get on my nerves, Jesse!".
