Anne Burrell is a famous chef and television personality. She was born September 21, 1969 in New York City. She grew up in upstate New York with her mom. Anne’s favorite dish is Bucatini all” Americana because her mom made it for her as a child and she admired it. Her educational background includes: Canisius College and The Culinary Institute of America. Anne also spent a year in Italy studying at the Italian Institute of Culinary Arts. Anne Burrell did not start off her life wanting to become a chef. She was an assistant of many to a large corporation and says she had an epiphany at the age of 23. She decided that she was too young to be as miserable as she was in that job. Anne quit her job with the corporation. She got a new job as a
prep cook and then took it a step further to become a chef. After, receiving her culinary degree she worked at the Culinary Institute of New York City until 2007. While working there she was asked to be on Iron Chef. She became famous when she won the show by beating Chef Morimoto. After winning she wrote a book titled Cook Like a Rock Star; it was published in 2011. That same year she was asked to be the guest judge on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Later that year in addition to being a guest judge she became a mentor on the television program Worst Chef’s in America.
