Anthrop Reflection Paper

1. What are your plans after receiving your Winthrop degree and how do you feel your Winthrop experiences have prepared you for that plan? Although I am majoring in corporate finance, my plans after graduation are currently not fixed. I have been working for a small business, the Puckerbutt Pepper Company in Fort Mill, going on four years. My role as grown over the years and I am wanted there for the foreseeable future. Projecting from my current academic standing, I will obtain my bachelor’s degree at least a year early. The possibilities after graduation are numerous as my interests span across multiple disciplines. I would thoroughly enjoy entering the finance sector right away; however, I am debating going to graduate school or even law
school. Whatever career path I choose, I know I want to be in a position of leadership and the power to give back to the community. I know I will be successful at whatever I do, in part, because of my experiences at Winthrop. The cumulating of knowledge exuded from my professors at Winthrop have put me in a position to be successful in life. Generalizing my experiences from my interactions with professors at Winthrop, Winthrop professors are highly educated and bestow their knowledge thoroughly to the students. Their desire to see students succeed motives me to be successful for not only myself, but also Winthrop University.

2. Why is this scholarship important to you? Please include any extenuating circumstances that you would like the committee to consider. As a finance major, I am exceptionally aware of the power of interest. My tuition is funded predominately through student loans. As I am self-funded, the burden of my student loans is already felt. Additional scholarship money would extremely help ease my financial burden. I would be very grateful to receive addition scholarship money because I can stop borrowing from my future earnings and start further investing in my future.
