People are naturally shaped by their pasts and certain things can trigger a response of backwards thinking and events. When this happens an event-schema was activated. For another example, after the fight scene in the club, which was aforementioned, Antwone continued his meetings with the psychiatrist and was doing well and also graduated from his Japanese class. At his graduation, the psychiatrist told him that he should find his real family, that he needed to move on, and that he could no longer be his patient. As soon as he was told this, Antwone became angry and accused the doctor of leaving him just as everyone else has, and then this triggered an event-schema of his best-friend dying essentially leaving him too. He tells the story on how he and his friend went to the corner store, he was unaware that his friend was trying to rob the place and his friend was killed during the robbery. Based on the text, this is an event-schema because it brought him back to an early experience on having someone leave him. According to the text, a schema is basically the way we compartmentalize the information that we have about the world (Akert, Aronson, Wilson 49). So then the question becomes why choose this particular film. The answer is that people are able to relate to this movie on so many more levels than one. For an example, the main character faces adversity within himself and this is relatable to everyday people. Those of whom are fighting internal battles for peace of mind. This movies reminds all people that a war, though long at times, can be won as long as the will and desire to win never leaves. Antwone Fisher is a walking testimony which embodies courage. Also a deeper point should be duly noted: Dark days come to all, but remember just as the sun set it will too eventually
