Since the invention of the television in 1926, it has served as a platform for promoting any kind of product or event. Besides entertainment, the television has helped reach important messages and events to millions of people all over the world. Specifically, television has played an important role in the presidential elections of the United States since the 1960’s. Television has had a positive impact on presidential elections because it has made elections more accessible and it has helped candidates promote various issues. Without television, presidential elections would not reach as much people as it does now. One of the positive effects of television on presidential elections is the magnitude of people that can be reached through this specific technology. Before the invention of the television, presidential elections were only known to those heavily involved with their communities. Any kind of information or events regarding presidential elections were made more accessible to the public with the help of the television.
