Apollo 11 was the first successful flight to the moon with humans. The man leading this voyage was Armstrong with his partner Pilot Collins. As this breakthrough was happening at a global stage, in New York other issues were occurring. P.R.I.D.E., people recognizing individual diversity and equality. This statement and many other have been the rally cry of the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) community. However, when did the fight for equality start. This fight began in 1969 in New York City. The event that started this is known as the Stonewall riot. Without all the research that went into the space missions, companies like Intel Corp. might not exist nor we won’t have made the advancements to be able to have laptops.
