Araby Vs. Aladdin

How would you react when you find out you are not special? That there is a person who acts like you, came from the same background as you, but is more successful or less successful?
One of the main differences found from the short stories are their settings. Although the settings were not directly stated, it can be easily identified from how the authors describe it in the stories. Araby is set in Dublin, Ireland because the character mentioned North Richmond Street which is a known place in Ireland. While Aladdin in set in the Middle East since they made use of Arabic names and their form of government is referred to as a sultan. Despite their different locations, both stories somehow share the same plot which involves young men who try to go through life and realize the hardships that come with it. They both revolve around how a young man does everything to win the heart of the girl; in Araby it is Mangan’s sister while in Aladdin it is the princess Halima.
