Are Cars Good Or Bad
In this day and age, depending on the type of car, the price for a new car average is between $15,000 and well into the millions. While in the 1920's the average cost for a new car was $240 which is about $2,696 today. Automobiles have changed extremely from the Henry Ford's original Model-T, to the Mercedes-Benz C-class. But who invented cars, why did they invent cars, what are the ups and downs of the invention, and how has it impacted our lives? So why were cars invented, people likely wanted to travel and get around faster, without having to use tracks or water. Businesses wanted to get to their produce quicker, home owners wanted to move or travel more efficiently, emergency workers wanted to get to the emergency faster, and many more …show more content…
Automobiles are able to travel a lot faster and longer then by wagon. Automobiles are able to go from farm to market keeping the produce fresh. Cars also have a huge service in helping emergency workers save lives and catch criminals. Police, doctors, and fire fighters depend on their vehicles to get to the emergency as quick as possible. Cars have changed the way we travel instead of riding in a wagon pulled by two horses we can ride in a car with 200 – 400 horse power. Cars have benefited us in so many ways, but what is the downfall to cars? One answer is gasoline which has a negative impact on the environment. It pollutes the air, invades the water, and when too much is inhaled can cause lung cancer. It is also a nonrenewable resource, what happens when it all goes POOF. Even worse, car crashes in the United States result in more then 40,000 deaths per year says the Institute in the Journal Injury Prevention. So, should society hank Karl Benz for the invention of gasoline powered cars? Cars have indeed affected people all over the world, good and bad. Car manufactures have even started giving cars the ability to stop on their own, its like an extra pair of eyes. Cars have become faster, smarter, and some even have WiFi now.
