Long hours of staring at a computer or IPhone screen are the root of permanent impairment to the eye (Simons, 2015). Many who are aware of this have stopped spending unnecessary hours on their gadgets. For this reason, they do not read the news or books online, but prefer buying printed books and newspapers instead. In addition, Simons states that research shows a range of health problems arise such as, sleep disorientation, headaches and in extreme cases, cancer, due to the excessive amounts of blue light emitted from gadgets. What is more, when books or news are read from the screen of electronic gadgets, the tendency to develop dry eyes skyrockets. According to Adams (2014), countless studies have shown that people are less likely to blink more when they are reading from their computer screen. For this reason, the eyes are given less refreshment as when one blinks, a layer of tears are spread over the eye.
