Ruthless, bloodthirsty, god of war, although Ares was depicted as evil or bad he was not entirely he just possess all the aspects of war that were needed when going into battle. He symbolizes war and carnage, in battle Ares had a bloodcurdling screech, Ares is an interesting character in Greek mythology. Ares’ birth was quite interesting. He was born by Hera touching a certain flower (theoi.com). Zeus, the god of all gods, along with Hera, Zeus’ wife, were the parents of Ares (encyclopedia). Being born from one of the most known gods, Zeus, Ares was one of the 12 Olympian, deity’s and god of war and battle (McCffery). To some everything Ares was fairly important in Greek mythology. Ares was a crazed character who loved battle. Ares symbolizes the undesirable features of war, gore and carnage (Britannica). Ares was frequently described as having a bloodcurdling screech in battle (mcCaffery).Aphrodite was Ares wife and she mother dares children Deimos, Phobos and when Ares would go into battle his children would partner him (Britannica) so in conclusion Ares was also known for his roar in battle and the symbolization of gore. Ares was a very vengeful person with many children. Ares many sons became famous Greek kings and warriors (encyclopedia). His daughter pentesilea died at a young age and her father Ares, tried to avenge her but Zeus the god of all gods stopped him Ares the Greek god of war has a character mars the roman god or war based off of him. The romans that weren’t very familiar with Greek mythology compared Ares with the roman war god mars however their personalities weren’t alike in the slightest (encyclopedia). Mars the roman war god was actually based on Ares in Greek mythology (mcCaffery).
