Argo Essay
During the beginning scene in Argo, Ben Affleck’s reasoning for including the conflicts of two countries was to explain their beliefs and different government and political stances. During this time the Iranian people had wanted the United Stated to send the Shaw back to Iran, because he had cancer the United States brought him to receive treatments. The Shaw was accused of taking billions of dollars away from its citizens and selling lots of oil to other countries. When observing the Iranian protestor in the beginning of the film they are mad at the Americans. The poster were held outside of the embassy and chanting, while burning the American flag. They don’t agree with American politics and government they feel like our government is trying …show more content…
The movie made that message clear in the beginning. Usually in a country like Iran women weren’t viewed as dominant force, but during the scene in the beginning there was all kinds of people like kids, men, women all of them united to make their point true. And Ben Affleck made sure to that he made the Iranians united like they were during this time. The point of having this scene and how important it was to get this correct was to get the viewers interested but most important was to get the message clear and to make sure he got every detail correct. If he didn’t have the Iranians burning the American flag maybe he could have done something else but when the American flag was being burnt it gave a true sense of what was going on and it’s a deeper meaning than it just being a flag. Argo was a good movie the beginning scene was perfectly executed and make it feel the suspense and shock the movie was all about. By having American flags burning and all genders and ages protesting shows the research they had and made it as close as possible to the original story. Explain a time during the Iranian revolution that started the American Hostage crisis and

Since the dawn of mankind, humans have always wanted to conquer the skies. After the Wright Brothers first flight, mankind has dreamed of bigger and better aircrafts. Shortly after World War ll a company named Avro Aircraft Limited was assigned the job by the Royal Canadian Air Force to build supersonic twin engine interceptor which could defend Canada against Soviet Bombers during the Cold War. With a plant in Milton, Ontario and 14 000 employees, Avro Aircraft Limited built and manufactured ones of the greatest planes in aviation history. The plane was a masterpiece; it flew at nearly mach 2 and had futuristic technologies which would match up to planes from today. The Avro Arrow program turned out to be a huge waste of the effort and money, as it was cancelled less than a year later. There can be many reasons why it was cancelled but the biggest was the immense pressure put on Diefenbaker by President Eisenhower and the United States Air Force. Other reasons could be because of its huge price tag, a new emerging era of anti-aircraft technologies, or the fact that it had many little flaws in its design. Terminating the Avro Arrow program was the right and smarter thing to do by Prime Minister John Diefenbaker and his Conservative Government.…

In addition, on September 8, 1978, also known as Black Friday, troops established by the Shah fired on demonstrators who were holding slogans that said “Death to the Shah,” in Jaleh Square, killing more than 500 people. However, women in modern day in Iran still show resistance towards the government only in a different way according to Ada, "It was resistance! We would wear gloves to hide our hands and use tricks to get away with wearing as much makeup as possible. That's what [the government] does to us.” In the past, demonstrators would gather together to speak out against the Shah, and there would be a lot of violence involved like shootings and killing people. In modern day Iran, woman like Ada show their resistance towards the government by wearing makeup and nail polish and using as many tricks as they can to get away with it, which shows us the two different types of resistance in modern day and the past Iran and how the past has influenced the…

The view on the Aztecs has changed tremendously over the years. Each mind has its own opinion on the Aztecs. The early conquistadors thought the Aztecs were primitive; worse, they weren’t Christian. Yet Prescott described them as organized and truly wonderful. He emphasized their achievements. The Aztecs lived in modern day Mexico which was back then called Tenochtitlan. The Aztec’s large population lived in a small basin about the size of Rhode Island. They believed in the sun god, Huitzilopochtli, who they tried to please by religious sacrifices. The Aztecs were creative, highly religious, and organized. History should say that the Aztecs are truly an extravagant and advanced civilization.…

The director showed the strain between the U.S and Iran by using memory, because the movie itself is based on a true incident which happened in 1979. In 1979, the American embassy in Iran was invaded by Iranian revolutionaries and several Americans were taken hostage. However, six managed to escape to the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador and the CIA was eventually ordered to get them out of the country. With few options, ex-filtration expert Tony Mendez devised a daring plan: to create a phony Canadian film project looking to shoot in Iran and smuggle the Americans out as its production crew. With the help of some trusted Hollywood contacts, Mendez created the ruse and proceed to Iran as its associate producer. However, time was running out with the Iranian security forces closing in on the truth while both his charges and the White House had grave doubts about the operation themselves. Affleck intentionally made this movie based on the memory because he wants audience especially, the kids of this generation to be a brave and proud American. I believe what Affleck wants from our generation is to take risks and get the success out of it. In the movie Tony Mendez took the risk of bringing back the 6 Americans from Iran even when the CIA officer told him not to take such kind of risks. However, he believes that "whoever takes responsibility of something he should definitely do what he is supposed to do". Because if someone do not take any risks he would not know the win behind…

Plato and Z represent the same idea but in different ways. The movie ANTZ and Plato's Utopia have many striking yet relatable similarities. I've found that in both, the Military assumes the dictatorial role, while the workers are there to take their commands. But, often within the hierarchy there are rebellious (antz) people who feel that they are being mistreated and yearn to live in a land where free will is always convenient, like, Plato's Republic/ Utopia and ANTZ's Insectopia.…

    Hobbit Essay

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is set in a fantasy world that has differences, as well as similarities, to our own world. The author has created the novel's world, Middle Earth, not only by using imagination, but by also adding details from the modern world. Realistic elements in the book enable readers to relate to the setting, yet have the ability to "imagine" exciting events and organisms not found on Earth.

The majority of differences between Middle Earth and today's world are found in objects and the actions of characters that can not be carried out or created in our world. The most abundant example of this in The Hobbit is the presence of magic. Gandalf, the wizard, is able to help the adventurers out of a number of dangerous situations by using his magical powers to harm their enemies. He set Wargs afire while he was trapped in a tree and created a bolt of lightening to kill many of the Goblins who had surrounded the group in a cave. The magical ring, which was a key to helping the group succeed in the book, allowed he who was wearing it to become invisible to others. Also, there was a black stream in Mirkwood that made he who drank out of it suddenly very drowsy and forgetful of previous events. All of these examples of happenings and objects found in Middle Earth are physically impossible in a world such as ours.

Several of the organisms in the book are not known to exist on Earth. Hobbits, of course, are fictional characters, as are dwarves, elves, goblins, and trolls. Many species of animals are able to vocally communicate with humans and dwarves in the novel, which is not possible on our planet. Beorn, a human who is able to morph into other creatures at an instant, is an excellent example of such fiction. The dragon, Smaug, is the main adversary of the fourteen adventurers and is a type of creature that has long been used in fantasy writing. Although most of the characters' species are merely creations of the author, they all exhibit a…
