unusual junk. As he was looking closer, he noticed that there was a huge engraved path a couple feet in length with odd and strange debris all over the site. They found gray rubber spread everywhere as if something crashed down from the sky. Mac picked up a couple of the pieces and took them to his neighbor to ask them what they thought it could be. He decided that he drive into Roswell the local town nearby to show the pieces to the sheriff, George Wilcox. The sheriff contacted the Roswell Army Air Field and began investigating the situation. Soon after the military stepped in, they sealed off the area for a couple days and gathered all the debris. They then brought that to a different air field in Dayton, Ohio. Because the way the military had covered up the situation and all the secrecy involved, it wasn 't long before the media got a hold of the matter. It wasn’t even a week before all the locals of that Roswell town were tricked believing that an alien space craft had crash landed in Mac Brazel 's property, and also that the government was involved in covering it up. Many of people began stepping forward saying that they saw the wreckage and that it was the remains of a crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft. Now, because the Air Force tried to convince the people that it was just a weather balloon that had crash landed due to the storm, it lead to people think more about what the government is actually covering up. And the fact that the Air Force tried so hard to convince people, it just made people more and more curious. Ever since then, the city of Roswell has become the most famous "alien" location in the United States. As people go to visit Roswell, they greeted with tons of alien toys, movies, clothes, shops, museums. In fact, every year in July, tons of alien supporters from throughout the world come together at Roswell to celebrate the anniversary of the “alien crash landing” and go out to the museums and gift shops.
Many people wonder what actually happened in Roswell.
Well, this was a huge debate for many years until June 1997. The US Air Force made an official statement about what happened at that Roswell incident. They released the 231 page report for everyone to see. In the report they explain what happened and why they wanted to keep it a secret. The Air Force was testing a new jet they had been working on, the KC-97G, they wanted to see how it would handle bad weather. After some electrical problems within the system, the plane crashed into Mac Brazel’s pasture. But because the United States wanted to keep the new plane a secret, they did not allow the other nations to find out about it. In attempts of covering the incident, the Air Force called it a weather balloon crash. As one of the men in charge, Kent Jeffery, was investigating the crash site, he reported that "No UFO crashed at Roswell-with or without aliens. It did not happen. Period." He collected more than 20 thousand signatures from people against the secrecy about the Roswell matter (Jones). But almost every UFO enthusiast now agrees with the Air force’s claim and explanation that the Roswell Incident was not actually an
UFO.
Now, even though that the Roswell incident is the biggest alien encounter/event to occur in United States history, and it gaining more media coverage and national attention and interest than any other alien occurrence ever, the event is only one of all the "sightings" that alien enthusiasts use to back up their claim that aliens exist, making landings, stays, and even flights on and around our planet every single year. A fact that most people don 't know is that over 90 percent of all UFO reports are proven to be Identified Flying Objects (Stacy 2). Thanks to the the press, the entertainment industry, huge toy and plastic junk corporations, anti-government people and alien supporters, they have successfully convinced 71 percent of Americans today that the United States government wants us to believe that we are alone. And that we are even taking precautions to keep things like alien sightings away from us (Stacy 3). So this brings us to the question, Is this really true? "To date, no one has produced any evidence of a government Alien/UFO cover-up" (Stacy 7). Dave Wood, chairman of the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena recently said that "The lack of compelling evidence beyond the pure anecdotal suggests that on the balance of probabilities that nothing is out there." (Copping 8). The belief that the government is covering up things like alien sightings is merely a science fiction.
Alan Hale, US Astronomer, said, " Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence " (Hale 1). You need to have plenty of proof to justify something. You can’t just have a blurry picture of a dot in the sky and say it’s a UFO. You would think you would have a couple pictures of UFO but that is not always the case. The ICR (Institute for Creation Research) said that “To date, there is not one piece of real evidence in either science or the Bible that intelligent beings were either evolved or created anywhere in the universe except on earth.” The statement we should be coming to is not the we know, but that we don’t know. We are in an absence of information. NASA hasn 't detected one extraterrestrial signal from space yet despite many efforts (Stacy 6). In addition, almost every UFO sighting can be easily dismissed as mistakenly previously identified planets, rockets, weather balloons, and other space related. There are over 7,087 man-made objects out in space, many of those being mistook for UFO 's by people all over the world (New York Times 5). There is no way alien supporters have even came a little close to proving that aliens are nothing but cute little toys you get off of eBay. Whether or not we know if aliens exist, Americans should realize the chances of someone visiting our planet are nearly impossible, and has not been even close to. This is something the media and alien activists have worked hard at getting us all to believe in. Good Luck activists!
