He was born to a white mother and black father in Hawaii. Barack is one of the greatest leaders who has many values through which he became the President of the United States. I have e-mailed you, and I have set up an appointment to discuss the choice I should make concerning my topic for this research paper and presentation. I have always been interested in American history, but it seems as though I never gave much thought to the particular time period in which I am most interested. I have concluded however, that I do not know much about Colonial America. Every time I would sit down and begin to delve deeper into a topic I believed I might want to write about, I would realize that it did not fall under that “Colonial” category. I am interested in the study of the history of women, and I know that until the Women’s Movement of the 1960s, not much had been…

As of Tuesday, January 21, 2009, President Barack Obama has proven to me that it is no longer a theory that I can be whatever I aspire to be. President Obama has the desire to see every individual in this nation succeed, and is charismatic enough to draw people together to achieve this goal by running the country, which is a beneficial need for all of us. Yet, President Obama and his wife Michelle have African ancestors like me. They also look like me, sound like me, and understand my experiences as a black American, and this is the point that I believe many black Americans wanted this nation to understand. This is the first time in my life that I feel like an American, and am proud to be an American.…

I believe that the Presidential Election of 2000 was illegitimate. The reason is because there were 175,000 declared uncountable ballots that were either dimpled or hanging Chads (1). Additionally, if these votes were hand counted, I believe that Al Gore would have been ahead and would have won the state of Florida. Additionally, the state of Florida had a purge list of 20,000 US citizens that were unable to vote (1). For example, if a Florida citizen had the same name as a convicted felon, and/or initials, the list captured their name and automatically placed it on the purge list. Because of this list, many people were turned away at the polls on election day. In the state of Florida, there are 67 counties and 18 of those counties chose…
