As claimed by Mia Lewis in “Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger?”, “Owning a wild animal is arguably cruel to the animal in a way that owning a domestic animal isn’t” (Lewis). If the proper methods of utmost care are provided to the animal, cruelty is not present. Additionally, the argument that domestication determines whether or not an animal is fit to be kept as a pet prevails. According to Lewis, “Exotic animals are something else entirely. They are wild animals with wild instincts, even when born in captivity. A wild animal is never 100 percent predictable” (Lewis). Although this may be true, no animal is 100 percent predictable. Animals that are considered domesticated have also caused danger to their owner.
