If somebody ask you about Katheryn Hudson, most likely people wouldn't have a clue who she is.
However every person, somewhat following the pop music, would recognize who is Katy Perry... American vocalist as well as songwriter. After performing in church during her childhood, she pursued a profession in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio recording Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially not successful.
Perry went up to fame in 2008 with the introduction of the singles "I Kissed a Girl"-- which triggered controversy for its homosexual themes.
Five years back, Katy Perry scored a 5th Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),".
