Albert Einstein once stated that, “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” I took this quote to mean that without each other they would lack in a balanced world. Furthermore, the research topic I will completely focus on is the struggle between Catholic churches and the contraceptives.
The Catholic Churches have a belief that the only contraception acceptable is Abstinence. The founder or one of the developers of the pill goes by the name of John Rock. Mr. Rock was a member of the Catholic church,but what I do not understand why was he so fond of this development , what made him invest his time even though he knew women would be committing a sin? Even though he’s a strong believer in Catholicism, Mr. Rock didn’t agree with the women suffering with unwanted pregnancies. He had seen collapse wombs, premature aging, and depression from months of feeding, as stated on the PBS website on Mr. rock himself. He argued that the church should consider the “pill” as a natural substance: Woman would still have a normal “period” with a 28 day cycle. Even though John Rock did not succeed with the approval of the “pill”, he started something so much more. Rock had created an impact on all catholic’s way of thinking. Because of this many Catholics began to follow their conscience vs the church belief on the concept of Birth Control. With the catholic church banning the pill, Rock began to fall out of the catholicism beliefs.
