Argumentative Essay: Should Uber Be Banned?
Nowadays, smartphones are becoming one of the important things that people use for almost everything in life. By using the trend to their advantage, Uber created an app for people can easily book a ride in any location at anytime with a cheap price. What is Uber exactly? It is a service that connects customers and drivers together, by using the phone number shows up in the app. With all the benefits Uber give to the society, it stills have opposite opinions to it, but it should not be ban. Uber has been cheaper than a cab. By their reasonable price, it is the highlight to attracts people and become popular. For example, normal cab price will be 30$, on other hands Uber cab will only about 16$ to 17$. It also gives the customers many options to select …show more content…
Also Gretel Kauffman said in “Why Uber could be banned in California”, “In June, the California Labor Commissioner’s Office ruled that a Uber driver is an employee and not an independent contractor, a decision that could have significant financial ramifications for Uber and other sharing economy startups. Uber is also appealing that ruling.” This statement has many opposing thoughts to it because Uber is just a mobile app which provides service for transportation. Therefore, the drivers are also the users of Uber app. Uber is an intermediary that brings connection between drivers and customers as finding friends in social media. There are some of Taxi drivers asks customers to pay cash for the trip fare, so they do not need to pay taxes. If all the taxi drivers ask for cash, so should the government ban the taxi as well?
Uber should not be banned. Uber provide best services and best price for customer. It also reduces the unemployment rate, which helps to improve the economy. However, I think Uber should maintain good performance and continuing to improve in order to satisfies customer’s
