Should People Be Allowed To Use Cell Phones While Driving Essay
Clicking of phones, a crash, injured people, and the sound of an ambulance. Many people try to press that one like on Facebook not knowing that it may lead them to their demise. Some may believe that handheld cellphones should be allowed to use while driving. However, I believe that it should be illegal for people to use cellphones while driving because it distracts the driver and other drivers around them, increasing the chance of an accident. Cellphones should be illegal while driving because it distracts the driver and increases the chance of an accident. One example of how phones distract drivers and cause accidents can be seen from my Driver's Education class. My teacher, Coach Ferrick, said "When a driver looks away from the road …show more content…
Along with harming the driver, it also destroys the others' cars, which then wastes time and money to get it fixed. Some may believe that phones should be allowed while driving because it helps with directions. However, my experience with cellphone navigation proves this to be otherwise. I am extremely clueless in directions. So, when my parents asked me to come to their restaurant, I used the maps in my phone. At first, it said it would only take 30 minutes. However, I ended up taking an hour and 20 minutes. The fault comes from looking down at my phone constantly, and I missed several turns as a result. Instead of relying on my phone, I should have used a GPS, so that I would not have to constantly look down for directions. This navigational tool would have been much more efficient than using a phone. Texting and driving was already a problem. If the use of phones begin to increase, the rates of car accidents in the United States will also increase with it. Other technologies like the GPS and the radio can replace the phone's maps, and music. Let us get rid of phones in cars and create a future without any car accidents. The use of phones will only become an obstacle for this future. Using phones while driving should be made illegal in all states

Accidents happen everyday on the road. Some are from bad weather conditions, others are because the driver is under the influence of alcohol, and many are caused by distracted drivers on their cellular phone. Even though a lot of places in the United States are completely illegal to use the cellphone while a person is driving, there is still a lot of states in US where this rule is not applied, and it has been very dangerous for the drivers. Most of young people between the ages of sixteen and seventeen specially, text while driving, making them pay more attention on their phones than the road, which is not a mature attitude. Most of young drivers do not know how bad a car accident could be until they get involved into one. If a person is using the cellphone while driving, it just shows that the person is giving more attention to a electronic device, than paying attention on the street while conducting a heavy and big vehicle on movement, eventually causing an accident most of the times.…
