Arguments Against Environmental Racism

Environment racism a topic that a lot of people don’t talk about. It’s also something that affect many people around the world: whites, people of color, rich, but mainly the poor. Environmental racism is happening to people and places around the United States and is just becoming more and more of a dangerous act. To begin with, people everywhere are being negatively affected by the environment. ”This study found that of 27 hazardous-waste landfills capacity -- were located in the five southern states: Alabama Louisiana, Oklahoma, south Carolina, and Texas.(Source2:10)” Places like Tallahassee and Florida is being targeted as well. “Another reminder came when a garbage transfer station nobody wanted ended up at the edge of Clewiston near the predominantly black Harlem neighborhood in 1992”(Source1:3). Clewiston city was becoming a dumpster and people was hoping that they didn't have to live in the area but,
Environmental racism is a huge probelm and the government is making it seem like the rich countries and more important. “when rich countries can edit the poor out of the most important document on the gravest danger facing Earth”(Source 3:13) This means that noone thats rich is really serious about this situation and could careless about what the poor people and families are going through. “ But, as i wrote recently, there are certain people- particularly those with large concentrations of melanin in their skin, and smaller concentrations of money in the bank- who are suffering more of that fuckery than their less-melanated, more-resoured counterparts” (Source 3:2).”Many rich countries argue that $100 billion a year is an unrealistic demand;”(Source 3:8). Both of these statements show that people and many other families have to struggle because of racial discrimination. It's hard to see that people of color cannot be treated equally because their a different skin
